Terms of Use
Last updated: June 29, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Side A ("we," "us"), the maker of the Side A app. By downloading or using Side A, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
The app
Side A is a music player that reimagines your music as cassette tapes. It works together with Apple Music, and you need a compatible Apple Music account and an appropriate device to use it. Side A is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc.
Your license to use Side A
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Side A for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment. You agree not to copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the app except as allowed by law.
Tapes and content you share
Side A lets you create tapes and share them with others. When you share, you're responsible for what you share, and you confirm you have the right to share it. You agree not to use Side A to share anything unlawful, infringing, hateful, or abusive, or to include private information about others without their consent.
We may remove shared content or disable share links at our discretion, for example if they violate these terms or if we receive a removal request.
Music and intellectual property
The music you play through Side A is owned by its respective rights holders and is provided through Apple Music under Apple's terms. Side A does not host, sell, or supply any music. The Side A app, name, logo, and design are owned by us and are protected by intellectual property laws.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the app or the playsidea.com service — including by interfering with their normal operation, attempting to gain unauthorized access, or using them for any unlawful purpose.
No warranty
Side A is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't guarantee that the app will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every device or future version of Apple Music.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Side A. Side A is an independent project offered for your enjoyment.
Changes
We may update the app and these terms from time to time. When we change these terms, we'll revise the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Side A after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
